Zuidam Korenwijn Genever 5 Year Old

The Zuidam Gelagerde Korenwijn is a grain eau de vie spirit from the Netherlands distilled from equal parts Rye, Mais and Malted Barley. The corn gives a rich sweetness, the rye gives spicy notes and the malted barley provides the backbone. The spirit is distilled four times in a small pot still and partially distilled a fifth time with carefully selected herbs, juniper, licorice root and aniseed. Before bottling, the alcohol percentage is reduced naturally to 45% from aging in small wooden barrels.⁠ It's rich and flavourful showcasing a mix of tangy juniper, orange zest, cassia bark, fresh flowers and creamy vanilla with a hint of toffee and sweet honey.⁠
