The Hilt Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay

The Hilt Estate was first established in 2004 to focus on making world class wines from the Santa Rita Hills appellation. After spending several years studying this area, Matt Dees and his team realized that they wanted a north-facing property, as close to the ocean as possible. This Chardonnay is fermented and aged in a mix of French Oak (new and old) and stainless-steel tanks for 11 months. The idea is to give the maximum amount of blending components for a more complex style. It’s rich and graceful, offering notes of grapefruit, mango, lemon zest, brioche and chamomile, with a hint of vanilla bean and sweet cream.
