The First Editions Orkney 2006

Hunter Laing & CO is an independent bottling company, playing an important role in the whisky business. The First Editions range of single barrel expressions is always released at natural cask strength and without colouring or chill filtration. In this case, they have purchased a cask from an Orkney Distillery – but that distillery remains a mystery! Distilled in 2006, this 15-year-old whisky has matured in a refill hogshead and bottled in 2021 at 62.8% abv. It offers a creamy mouthfeel with a bit of spicy heat, mixing yellow pear, apple, salted chocolate caramel, cookie dough and mixed herbs with a hint of vanilla. Only 309 bottles were produced from this cask.
