Famille Messager-Germain has quickly become one of the most exciting rising domaines in recent history. With a focus on precise, terroir-driven wines and meticulous vineyard work, the wines consistently show lots of clarity and energy. Adele Germain and Simon Messager met while studying in the town of Beaune and eventually took over 1.5 hectares of vineyards from Simon’s parents. However, they also source some fruit from tiny plots, to increase production levels and 2022 marks their first vintage. Within the village of Marsannay, lies a small plot (lieu-dit) known as ‘En Leautier’, where these Pinot Noir grapes are sourced. This is a deeper and darker expression from the range, with a longer aging potential. You’ll taste a mix of dark cherry, purple plum and blueberry, with hint of herbal spice and earthy undertones.
