Maurizio Alongi Chianti Classico Riserva

Maurizio Alongi makes only one single wine, from his remote Barbischio vineyard. Saying this is a very special and unique offering, would certainly be an understatement. The vineyard is just two parcels, totalling 1.3 hectares and it sits in the middle of a forest in the eastern stretches of Gaiole. Each vintage evokes the wildness of the area and all the fragrant earthy notes. Thyme blossom, black raspberry, wild cherry and balsamic, chime on the palate with a delicate and savoury concentration. The tannins for this Riserva are also extremely fresh yet grippy and properly structured to age. It’s a perfectly elegant and  poised wine. Drink between: 2022-2028
