The story of the Maison Marchand-Tawse in Burgundy begins with the extraordinary story of Pascal Marchand. In 1985, at just 22 years of age, he became an overnight sensation and, in the process, pretty much defined modern Burgundy. This Clos Des Ormes Premier Cru, from the village of Morey-St-Denis, is an explosive and genuine expression of what to expect from this tiny vineyard, of only 4 hectares. It’s also located at the foot of Clos de la Roche Grand Cru. The soil here is quite lush, that is perfectly suited for a seductive Pinot Noir with silky tannins. It carries a perfume of spicy black plum, pomegranate, blackberry and cherry pie. Drink between: 2024-2036
