Lochlea 'Batch 3' Sherry and Ex-Islay Casks

Relatively new to the Scotch scene is Lochlea Distillery, in Scotland’s Lowlands. But the farm is rooted in Scottish history, as Robert Burns called Lochlea his home throughout his formative years. By day, Burns worked hard on the farm and in the evening, he enjoyed the company of his friends, debating at the Bachelors Club in nearby Tarbolton. The ground here has inspired the honest, passionate and progressive nature of Lochlea whisky. ‘Batch 3’ is a limited edition, aged in a combination of Oloroso sherry and ex-Islay peated casks. You’ll taste a mix of red fruits, dark chocolate and ginger cake, with some mild peat smoke and a good kick, sitting at 59.8% abv.
