Bastien Gautheron is the first generation of Maison Gautheron D’Anost, a rather new estate. Bastien took on his oenology studies at the young age of 15 and up until 2019, which is the scientific and practical aspects of wine and winemaking. In the lead up of setting up his own business, he also trained with Olivier Leflaive, in Burgundy. Today, the Maison owns some small plots in southern Burgundy. But he also sources fruit from trusted winegrowers (mainly friends of Bastien), to increase production levels and 2024 marks his first vintage. Within the village of Marsannay, lies a small plot (lieu-dit) known as ‘Au Quartier’, where these Pinot Noir grapes are sourced. This is a silky, fresh and pretty expression from the range, with fantastic aging potential. You’ll taste a mix of dark cherry, wild strawberry, blue plum and blueberry, with hint of violets, purple leather and lots of refreshing acidity. Drink between: 2026-2032
