Francois Mikulski Volnay 1er Cru 'Santenots Du Milieu'

François's father, Lieutenant Mieczyslaw Mikulski, escaped from Poland in 1939, fleeing to England. He met his future wife, a Burgundian woman working on an English army base. Over the years, François spent many summers in Burgundy, where he fell in love with the lifestyle and became determined to make his own wine one day. This Premier Cru, from the village of Volnay, is an explosive and genuine expression of what to expect from this tiny vineyard. The soil here is quite lush, that is perfectly suited for a seductive Pinot Noir. It carries a perfume of black plum, dark raspberry, blackberry, cherry pie, smoked meats and black pepper, with incredible depth and an expansive palate. Drink between: 2026-2038
