François's father, Lieutenant Mieczyslaw Mikulski, escaped from Poland in 1939, fleeing to England. He met his future wife, a Burgundian woman working on an English army base. Over the years, François spent many summers in Burgundy, where he fell in love with the lifestyle and became determined to make his own wine one day. The grapes for this beauty stem from the village of Pommard. This village is off the beaten path in the Cote de Beaune, but this obscurity makes for some hidden gems. This wine is concentrated and elegant with a lovely balance of blackberry, cherry pit, ripe plum, bilberry and a hint of fresh roses with some funky savouriness. The combination of older and younger vines forms its classy freshness, with a lingering intensity. Drink between: 2026-2034
