Domaine Francois Merlin Condrieu

Francois Merlin is first and foremost a farmer, having learnt about the complexities of viticulture and grape growing under Domaine Rene Rostaing, one of the great names in the northern Rhone. Whilst studying agriculture, Francois planted his first vines in 1989 and has since developed a well-earned reputation as one of the Rhone's leading grape growers turned producers. Condrieu is certainly the northern Rhone’s most distinctive wine appellation, covering white wines made exclusively from Viognier. This beauty exhibits the pure and nearly textbook characteristics of this varietal. It’s round and viscous, bursting exotic fruits, peach, apricot, honeysuckle, anise and orange blossom with a mouth-watering acidity. Drink between: 2023 - 2029
