The Bordeaux Wine Classification of 1855 has always been a very important and historic moment for the wine region of Bordeaux. Brokers from the wine industry ranked the wines according to a Chateau’s reputation and trading price, from First to Fifth Growths (crus). This isn’t a guarantee of quality but certainly a very impressive guideline to follow and have some fun with. In this classification system, Chateau Talbot, in Saint-Julien, is rated as a Fourth Growth. This offering is racy, round and silky, blending Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot that has spent 15 months in 60% new French Oak. It exhibits notes of blackcurrant, blueberry, cherry and dark raspberry, with a hint of cola, cedar, licorice, cocoa and forest floor. Drink between: 2026-2054
