Castello di Verduno Langhe Nebbiolo

In 1909 the Castle (Castello di Verduno) was acquired by the Burlotto family. Today the winery is owned and run by Gabriella Burlotto and her husband, Franco Bianco. The Nebbiolo grape is predominately associated with its native Piedmont region, where it makes the infamous wines of Barolo and Barbaresco. But some incredible gems can certainly be found in the hills of the Langhe region, where many Nebbiolo vineyards are located. The colour of this wine alone will make your head spin and send you into a wonderful trance. It also has a punch of tannins in its youth with scents of balsamic and roses. A little air helps reveal wild herbs, cherries, black raspberries and prunes.
