Castello di Verduno 'Rabaja-Bas' Barbaresco

The Castello di Verduno is a beautiful old building at the top of the village of Verduno. Built in 1500, it is one of the historic castles within Piedmont. Today the winery is owned and run by Gabriella Burlotto and her husband, Franco Bianco. Their marriage united two cellars. One under a small section in the Barolo zone and the other near the famous 'cru' Rabaja-Bas, in the Barbaresco zone. In Barbaresco, they own two parcels in the Rabaja-Bas 'cru' - one planted in 1974 and the other in 1990, for a total of just 1.23 hectares. This wine is extremely elegant and polished, unleashing a mix of purple cherry, raspberry, prune, mixed herbs and balsamic with a hint of violets. Drink between: 2022-2034
