Vines have long stood on the Caparzo land alongside olive trees and forestry, but the vineyard itself wasn’t established until the 1960s. In 1998, Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini fulfilled her long time dream and purchased the vineyard with a focus on the Sangiovese grape. Here is a rather juicy and uncomplicated wine packed with blackberries and wild strawberries. A small addition of Merlot, Petite Verdot and Alicante soften the palate and help balance some additional freshness.
