‘Alcanta’ or Alicante is a tiny wine region on Spain’s southeastern coast. Bogedas Bocopa was created in 1987, when a group of local cooperative wineries joined forces to better market their own wine. Cooperative wineries are fascinating little ecosystems, in their own right. They consist of a community of winegrowers (farmers) that bound together as a team, to make wine under their own label. This little firecracker is a blend of Monastrell (Mourvedre), Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo. It’s carries a fresh mingle of dark cherry, blackcurrant and balsamic.
