The village of Volnay is perched high on the hill of Chaignot, with steep and narrow slopes in the Cote de Beaune. These vineyards have been valued for centuries and the village gained its controlled appellation status in 1937. This ‘Robardelle’ Premier Cru is at the southern end of Volnay and borders Meursault. Drinking this wine is an absolute delight, showcasing a balance of delicacy and finesse, wrapped in a blanket of vigorous muscle. You’ll taste a harmonious blend of black cherry, blueberry jam, purple plum, violets, scorched earth and game with a hint of underlying wood and mint. Drink between: 2024-2032
