Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino 2016

The Valdicava property lies on a high plane in the village of Montalcino. Wines from this area have an incredible balance showcasing power and elegance. In fact, Valdicava is the actual name of the valley in which the greatest single-vineyard wines of Brunello are produced. Bramante Abbruzzese began bottling his own wine under the Valdicava label in 1977. However, the estate dates to 1953 when Bramante Abbruzzese was offered the opportunity to return to this property in Montalcino, where his ancestors were farmers’ centuries before. Here in Montalcino the opulence of the Sangiovese grape has led to a darker, deeper and more concentrated wine. Blackberries, currents, kirsch and dark cherries shine through with a mix of leather, black tea, savoury mushroom and a hint of cappuccino.
