Signatory Auchroisk 1996 Cask Strength

Signatory Vintage is an independent bottling company, playing an important role in the whisky business. In this case, they have purchased one cask from the Auchroisk Distillery and then carefully chosen when to bottle and release the whisky. Distilled in 1996, this single malt was initially matured in hogshead casks, before being transferred to ex-sherry casks for a generous 57 months. The whisky was then bottled in September 2022, totalling 26 years and part of their Cask Strength Collection. This dram is an absolute beast sitting at 48.7% abv and incredibly smooth. It offers a punch of dried cherries, purple berries, candied nuts and prickles of pepper with a hint of milk chocolate and spiced pastries. Only 687 bottles were gifted from this single cask.
