This Castle (Chateau) was built in the 9th, 12th and 16th centuries. It was formerly one of several properties belonging to the Duke of Burgundy, Philippe le Hardi and was named after him for centuries to come. Today, the current owners have 98 hectares of vines split between the Cote d’Or and Cote Chalonnaise, showcasing a diversity of climates and distinctive styles. 'Les Hates’ in Burgundy, is classified as a ‘Lieu-dit’ (literally said-location) and the luscious grapes for this wine are deriving from the village of Santenay. It offers an elegant balance of red and blue fruit with a hint of herbal spice, on a savoury and sensual finish.
