The vineyards are in the municipality of Marça. The vines are on clay soil and have an average age of 40 years. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation took place in tanks of 17,000 litres with mild daily pumping for a 15-day period, then aged in 500 litre French oak barrels for 12 months. 50% Grenache, 20% Carignan, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Tempranillo. Medium purple colour. The nose is fresh red and black berries, combined with smokey and spicy notes. An elegant and harmonious palate, refreshing acidity giving structure and silkiness to this intricately structured wine – while the fruit character is dense, it is also not heavy, and leads into more savoury notes of mushrooms and black olives. Expect this to age gracefully in the bottle over 5 years or more.
