Auxey-Duresses is located between the winegrowing areas of Saint-Romain and Meursault. With its hamlets named Petit-Auxey and Melin, Auxey-Duresses is one of the sanctuaries of Celtic and Gallo-Roman vine growing in Burgundy, thanks to its former collaboration with the Abbey of Cluny. Auxey-Duresses (pronounced ‘Aussey’) is a Cotes de Beaune appellation and the village gained its controlled appellation status in 1937. This wine is electrifying and pretty, revealing a mix of redcurrant, blackberry, bilberry and fresh roses with some funky spice and well-integrated tannins. Drink between: 2022-2028
